What is it about?

The “Belt and Road Initiative” has involved deepening infrastructure construction, our study examines the influence of infrastructure construction to economic development of countries who have joined the “Belt and Road”.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that infrastructure construction can promote economic growth and per capita output growth while improving income distribution of residents along the “Belt and Road”. These findings identify foreign direct investment and urbanization as important channels through which infrastructure construction can influence economic development.

Perspectives

I hope this article gives reference to policy-maker, and while our research thesis about Belt and Road going further more, our findings can give more suggestions on China's economic policy-making.
