Тhe burgeoning literature on the transnational history of Kemalism has overlooked the Armenian perspectives. Armenian interpretations bore the imprint of national calamity, despair, and division and are, therefore, unique in the existing critical analysis of Kemalism.

Why is it important?
The findings in the paper are important for those scholars who are interested in Armenian-Turkish relations and the evolution of the Armenian political thought of the 20th century.
Perspectives
After my book on Kemalism and its Soviet interpretations was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2019, I started examining another missing link in the transnational history of Kemalism: the Armenian perspectives of it. This was an eye-opening experience for me.
