What is it about?
For 4 time series the monthly tourism growth is calculated. Each increase in tourism activity is filtered, via a suitable model to obtain standardized tourism growth with right properties for the next analysis. Quantile dependence analysis, based on the cross-quantilogram of Han et al. (2016), is performed.

Why is it important?
Our results suggest that the efforts of a joint European tourism policy appear to have some merit, as tourism activity already behaves similarly across countries.
