Examen historiografico de las obras recientes sobre el concepto de negociacion indigena

What is it about?

This article situates indigenous negotiation theory within the most recent historiography of the topic. The author argues that the concept has allowed the idea of participation of the Indigenous peoples in the cultural and legal encounter has contributed to a new emphasis in the research that now reconsiders the agency of the Indigenous peoples within the Spanish Empire. In this sense, the article reflects on the place of indigenous issues in the political functioning of the spanish Monarchy.
