Density current plays an important role for upstream dam sedimentation and controlling it is a main task for environmental managers. Head control is a part for density current control.

Perspectives
I think this paper gives good information about the head of density current which in previous resources can not be seen, since the nature of the head is unsteady flow. However, one way to control the density current is controlling its head.
