Why is it important?
The shortage in the health workforce is a barrier to eye care services for people with diabetes. This research, conducted in Cambodia and Pakistan, demonstrated that task sharing in eye care has the potential to increase access to eye care and prevent vision loss from diabetic retinopathy through early detection and timely management
Perspectives
Doing this research was a great pleasure for me as this was about the prevention of blindness and visual impairment due to diabetes. The implementation of task sharing and co-management strategy could increase access to eye care services for timely management to prevent vision loss.
