Importance of banana Xanthomonas wilt infection routes

What is it about?

Banana Xanthomonas wilt caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. musacearum is has severely reduced banana production in East and Central Africa. This study looks at the modes of banana Xanthomonas wilt spread (BXW), the associated symptoms, incidences and disease incubation periods.

Why is it important?

This study gives an understanding of the epidemiology of the banana Xanthomonas wilt disease and thus could help to improve management decisions on farm.
