What is it about?

Chert is the most important raw material used by hunter gatherers in western Europe and elsewhere. While other raw materials like obsidian can easily be linked to the original quarry, chert provenance has proved to be more challenging. For the first time, we try analyze if some difference in chemical composition can be observed between the core and outler parts of chert nucleus.
