What is it about?

ABSTRACT: Porosity (), formation resistivity factor (F), Archie cementation factor (m), and pore geometry factor (a) have strong influences on the processes of electric-current conduction through saturated porous media. In the present study, these parameters were determined from electric resistivity measurements, along with grain size and water analyses, for a fresh-water aquifer in northern Germany. The aquifer is composed of glacial deposits consisting of silts, sands, and gravels, with a majority of sands and a small amount of clays. The  and F exhibit, respectively, values ranging from 25% to 51% and from 4 to 16, for which a range of 1.64-2.05 was obtained for m, and a value of 1.25 was obtained for a. An inverse relationship between  and F, with a coefficient of correlation of 0.95, was also obtained. FOR CITATION: Salem, H.S. 2001. Why is it important?

This paper presents a thorough investigation of four important petrophysical parameters that are greatly effective in understanding porous-media behaviour. They are: porosity, formation resistivity factor, Archie cementation factor, and pore geometry factor, as being determined in this study for glacial aquifers in northern Germany. Electrical resistivity measurements, along with laboratory analyses of water and sediments' samples were undertaken.

Perspectives

Since this paper was posted on the Internet, just a few years, ago, more than 5,000 research scientists, academicians, professional engineers, and others have read and/or downloaded it. Unfortunately, making such hard and costly work available free of charge to everyone, makes bad people to behave shamefully. This work after it was published and posted free of charge online, it was fully plagiarized by nasty people, calling themselves academicians and researchers. Regarding this, please see the act of plagiarism documented at the following Link, so that other people can learn from it: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/299392422_A_Must_Read_Plagiarism_Theft_of_Intellectual_Property_Is_A_Crime_Representing_Violation_of_Law_of_Intellectual_Property_Rights_and_of_Human_Rights_and_Accordingly_It_Must_Be_Punished
