Why is it important?

White supremacist groups have targeted college and university campuses with propaganda. This propaganda foments dissent by some students when theologies of liberation for people of color are discussed. It also creates greater tension in the classrooms around these conversations and introduces counter-narratives about racism that are both suspended from reality and designed to spread confusion, fear, and anger among all students. These pedagogies center on helping students investigate their responses to these narratives and equipping theological educators with the tools to navigate dialogues and lessons about racism.
