What is it about?
This article shows how Sequoyah's syllabary was an inspiration for many other language communities to develop their own scripts, often syllabaries, Sometimes the influence was direct, as people read about Sequoyah's work. Other times it was indirect, as people heard about other groups that had developed script under the influence of Sequoya. The his syllabary influenced scripts in North America, Africa, and Asia.
