What is it about?
Liaison (le[z] amis) does not occur by change in French. There are rules and constraints governing the production of liaison consonants. But there are also statistical regularities in the lexicon and in the sound system of French, that favor or disfavor the realization of liaison's consonants. These statistical regularities may be different according to individuals and groups.
