What is it about?

The volume addresses some of the most intriguing questions raised by Basque nominal expressions, including the interpretation of the article in Basque, adjectival modification, the relation between plurality and number agreement, the structure of possessive constructions, the syntactic structure of pronouns, the structure of quantifier phrases, the predicative use of nominals and the internal structure of verbal nominalizations.

Why is it important?

This is the first volume devoted in an integral fashion to Basque nominal expressions (DPs -including QPs- and nominalizations), a traditionally neglected aspect of Basque linguistics. In addition to the intrinsic interest that the volume has for those interested in Basque linguistics, the volume also fills a gap for those interested in typological studies, as it presents in a coherent fashion the fundamental properties of the nominal system in Basque.
