What is it about?
The study identifies ad hoc, non-standard Latinized subsystems emerging from below from the writing practices of commenters on two Serbian news websites. It is shown that the orthographic choices (Cyrillic vs Latin and standard vs. non-standard Latinized variants) are both guided by pragmatic concerns and ideologically motivated.
