What is it about?

It is a replication study of Ionin, Ko and Wexler (2004) who looked at article choice in +/-definite and +/-specific. We examine Japanese and Greek second language learners of English in our study.

Why is it important?

Our study offers further insight into article choices by one group that have no article in their first language (Japanese) and another group who have articles in their first language (Greek).

Perspectives

This is one of the first studies to try and replicate the study by Ionin, Ko and Wexler (2004). We offer an alternative explanation to the setting of an Article Choice Parameter.
