What is it about?

The medieval philosopher Nicholas of Amsterdam (ca. 1390 - ca. 1437) composed during his academic life at the University of Rostock (Germany) some commentaries on Aristole´s works. He was one of the main exponents of the school of John Buridan in the fifteenth century. Only a few of those important texts had been published hitherto. The two articles present for the first time a critical edition of parts of his commentaries on Aristotle´s "Metaphysics" (VII, question 12) and "De Anima" (I, question 8). They clearly show Nicholas´ point of view concerning the fundamental questions of philosophy.
