Why is it important?
The variation of character shapes in handwritten texts sheds a light on the processes that might work in your brain while you write something by hand. They might very well differ from the processes happening when typing something - and this might influence the discussion wether handwriting or typing is more effecting for tasks like memorizing a lecture oder structuring a text.
