The book reviewed presents a joint effort by scholars from China and Europe. The topics of the discursive studies in this book range from the social, economic, political, educational to ideological transformations in contemporary China. this book would benefit students and researchers who are interested in discourse studies and social science with a clear theoretical focus and practical application.
Perspectives
I benefit a lot from this book personally. The studies included in this volume are qualitative in nature with a wide coverage of topics from politics, economics, education and media, to social relations and social interactions. A variety of approaches are applied to discursive analyses, such as critical discourse analysis, natural history of discourse perspective, and conversation analysis.
