Why is it important?

The study examines ESL students' reactions to four different native English accents and analyses the possible relationship between speaker's social appeal, speaker's competence and accent preference . These have not been studied much in previous studies.

Perspectives

Before the article was written, I thought it would be only an extension of previous studies but when it was completed, I noticed that the article covered different issues on accent perception some of which need to be further explored. Hope, readers will find the article thought provoking.
