What is it about?

The study offers data visualisations to help people from different backgrounds understand complex issues, such as the relationship between level of education and income level. Bar graphs in motion, sound and written explanations and images help users identify with various living situations.

Why is it important?

Basic principles of how we read graphs are presented and applied to a data visualisation project. Testing is included in how we confirmed that we attained the goals. Design principles applied to these issues are explained.

Perspectives

We found new ways of how to present complex data and found how people appropriate the information we were presenting: identification of their own way of life and strong reactions among different users: skilled specialists, normal people, and people without education.
