What is it about?

A summary and discussion of research done regarding the specific linguistic features of translated texts, complete with a comprehensive model for the creation and workings of these characteristics. The model shows how the transfer operations of translators may result in the specific textual characteristics which are considered universal for translated texts.

Why is it important?

The comprehensive model makes it possible to understand the workings of transfer operations and translation universals, explaining and connecting research done in the field.

The paper is basically the presentation of my understanding how universal features of translation appear in translated texts. The presented model is based on and is a unification of earlier literature on translation universals.
