What is it about?

The phycobilisomes are protein-pigments complex that are used to harvest light energy in cyanobacteria (i.e. the antenna). Here we looked into the way the complex is organised using cross-linking and 2D-gel.

Why is it important?

Cyanobacteria are not only major carbon fixers but also very interesting from biochemical point of view. Although the phycobilisomes are known for many years their exact structure is still unknown. This paper help elucidate the issue.
