What is it about?

The Perfect Match Genomic Landscape, PMGL, strategy analizes genome variation using only perfect matches between a reference genome and a query genome. The algorithm has been automatized and deposited in a public repository. It has several applications for any haploid genome.

Why is it important?

The accuracy of the nucleotide sequence of genomes is of utmost importance for any genomic application. PMGL can increase the accuracy of the nucleotide sequence of any haploid genome, independently of the methods used to construct it.

Perspectives

PMG is a simple, precise, sensitive and non-statistical strategy to analize genome variation. It has multiple applications in genomics: refinement of reference genomes; customization of genomes for specific experimental purposes; experimental evolution studies; analyses of the evolution of pathogens during an epidemic or pandemic situation, such as COVID-19.
