Invasive species pose a threat to the native biota. We have shown the possible effect of the exotic snail Pomacea bridgesii in the form of destruction of the egg capsules of the indigenous snail Indoplanorbis exustus.

Why is it important?

The work illustrates the effect of the exotic snail Pomacea bridgesii on the native biota, highlighting its chance to establish as an invasive species. The study calls for an effective management of the exotic snail Pomacea bridgesii (Pomacea diffusa) to reudce the risk on indigenous freshwater snails.
