What is it about?
We were asking what is the size of a molecule. It is the same question as what is the volume of a molecule. The size, as the volume, has different meaning and also is referred to an object that can fluctuate. We were interested to define its size when it goes through a constrained space, like a nanopore.

Why is it important?
It is important to have a definition of such a size when we investigate the transport of molecules through confined spaces, like a nanopore.
Perspectives
One we get the size, we can calculate the free energy barrier for the molecule to go through a nanopore.
