What is it about?

Photocathodes are used as electron source in many accelerator facilities. We demonstrate a procedure for the growth of bialkali antimonide photocathodes. Additionally, we developed a new characterization system to investigate optical and photoelectric effects of the photocathodes.

Why is it important?

The new procedure offers a higher reproducibility and improved control of the photocathodes. With the new characterization system we are able to investigate all important parameters of the photocathodes directly in the laboratory.
