What is it about?

The features of the mineral composition and the nature of the distribution of the main and accompanying elements of the gold mineralization of the Taushan deposit in the Kuldzhuktau mountains were studied. It has been established that common ore minerals are pyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, psilomelane, goethitehydrogoethite, limonite, which develop in the zones of crushing and silicification of rocks in the form of nests and dissemination. The nature of the distribution of the main and accompanying elements shows that gold forms a significant correlation with arsenic, molybdenum, tellurium, bismuth, and tungsten. These relationships indicate the manifestation of higher temperature mineral-geochemical associations during the formation of gold mineralization at the Taushan deposit. It is noted that although Clarke concentrations of tungsten and molybdenum are not high, these elements can also be used as search criteria for gold mineralization, along with arsenic, tellurium, and antimony.

Why is it important?

The mineralized zones of the area are represented by zones of crushing and silicification. Composed of goethitehydro goethite, developing along cracks in rocks and separately in the form of nests and dissemination. Pyrite relics are found in quartz from the oxidation zone - interspersed micro grains of pyrite are occasionally found in fractured quartz rock, no larger than 0.01 mm in size, and the shape of the grains is irregularly polygonal.

Perspectives

The nature of the distribution of the main and accompanying elements shows that gold forms a strong correlation with arsenic, molybdenum, tellurium, and tungsten. These relationships indicate the manifestation of higher temperature mineral-geochemical associations during the formation of gold mineralization at the Taushan deposit. Although the Clarke concentrations of tungsten and molybdenum are not high, these elements can also be used as search criteria for gold mineralization, along with arsenic, tellurium, antimony, etc. The contents of rare earth elements in ores are low - they have lower Clarke values.
