What is it about?
laser ablation of V coated glass reduces laser energy ablating glass substrate leading to shallow micron structure, which support and protect the self-assembly nanoparticles during the process. The hierarchical structure enhances the roughness, meanwhile the resultant robust V2O5 increased surface energy, resulting in 0 contact angle and remarkable antifog performance. In the meantime, the structure enhanced transmission significantly due to the nanoparticles.

Why is it important?
co-achievement of durable antifog and antireflective properties. V2O5 also features photo induced hydrophilicity and help keeping the wetting property.
Perspectives
