What is it about?

This work is a basic study of the gas sensing application of important metal oxide (like zinc Oxide) and Conducting Polymer (like Polypyrrole) nanocomposite. The nanocomposites has enhanced good sensitivity, selectivity and stability as compared to other materials.

Why is it important?

The detection of very small concentration of hazardous gases is important for mankind and environment protection. Hence a good and efficient sensor is the need of time. In this work, we obtained a good sensor which is composed of nanocomposite of ZnO and polypyrrole for the detection of hazardous ammonia gas.

Perspectives

I think, this work will pave the way to do more research on the exploitation of the best properties of individual nanomaterials and making their composites will be used for tailoring the good properties for the specific applications in the field of nano science and nanotechnology for the befit of the society.
