What is it about?
Gas lift is one of the artificial lift techniques which it is frequently implemented to raise oil production . It works by decrease the average fluid density in the production tubing by injecting gas through the annulus into the tubing. This study aims to get maximum oil production of an Iraqi oil field at optimum injected gas rate.

Why is it important?
we build a production model using PROSPER to analyse the data of 16 wells in an Iraqi oil field and we found that there are 6 main parameters to optimise the gas lift system . we found that the gas lift technique is more beneficial for wells with relatively high water cut , gas lift can bring stalled wells back online at a high pace . Since this method is not widely applied in Iraq, despite being cheaper and more effective compared to other methods, this study provides an important and basic gesture to start paying attention to it and start applying it for its many benefits and ease of application.
Perspectives
Writing this research was a great honour for me and in cooperation with the rest of the co-authors of my colleagues and supervisors who gave me the opportunity to do what I love. I hope that this paper will be the beginning of seeing such ways to keep pace with development and reduce environmental harms and waste of natural resources that are widely applied in my country, Iraq.
