What is it about?

This is a study of the complexity in dynamic behavior of three four-variable subnetwork models of the Bronnikova-Fedkina-Schaffer-Olsen (BFSO) model of the peroxidase-oxidase reaction. In two of these models we observed so-called quint points. i.e. points where periodic oscillations with five distinct number of periodic oscillations coalesce. Similar quint points can be observed in the experimental peroxidase-oxidase reaction

Why is it important?

The study shows the existence of quint points, that is critical points where five distinct dynamical states coalesce. An example of such a quint point can also be found in new experimental data of the peroxidase-oxidase reaction.
