What is it about?

We made clear the boundary of the transition from laminar to turbulent flow experimentally, with use of FFT and flow visualization. We used the entropy change and the momentum conservation in discussion of the transition.

Why is it important?

We made clear the boundaries during the transition from laminar to turbulent flow. We use entropy in discussion, not disturbance. We discuss the entropy change of whole flow region. The model succeeded to predict the transition Reynolds number of 2400.

Perspectives

We will be able to explain the reverse transition, large transition Reynolds numbers and others with use of the entropy change.
