What is it about?

Abstract. The article presents the results on the development of a circuit solution for effective regulation of pumping station productivity, which allows achieving smooth start-up modes and energy-efficient control of pumping units by regulating the speed of their drive asynchronous motors. The diagram represents a control system for pumping units with two subsystems, one of which is a common frequency converter, and the other is a control unit for motor valves of pressure pipelines. The scheme makes it possible to ensure the rational use of hydropower resources by maintaining the required pressure in the main pipeline and smoothly changing the pump performance by means of a frequency-controlled electric drive. This is achieved by saving the supplied water at each of the control stages and reducing the specific consumption of electrical energy per unit volume of pumped water, as well as practically eliminating hydraulic shocks in the "pump - pressure network" system.

Why is it important?

Currently, one of the rapidly developing areas of scientific and technical research and are of great importance is work in the field of energy and resource conservation. These works mainly aimed at implementing the transition from an unregulated electric drive of energy-intensive mechanisms for general industrial purposes to a regulated one, which ensures an improvement in the energy and quality indicators of the technological process. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. Leading electrical engineering firms in developed countries are mainly working on the industrial development of automatic systems of controlled electric drives, providing high technical and economic indicators through the use for frequency control. This statement can be fully attributed to pumping stations for various purposes [7, 8, 9, 10, 11]. Control devices for hydro mechanical energy-intensive equipment of pumping units (PU), combined for joint parallel operation as part of a pumping plant (PP), could classified as multi-connected parametric automatic control systems.

Perspectives

1. The main criteria for choosing a controlled electric drive have been determined, the most important of which are ensuring optimal technological processes and energy efficiency of the adopted technical solutions. 2. A schematic solution of the modes of smooth start-up and energy-efficient control of pumping units by regulating the speed of rotation of their drive asynchronous motors proposed, which is a control system for pumping units with two subsystems, one of which is a common frequency converter and the other is a control unit for motor pressure valves pipelines. 3. The obtained dependences of the specific power consumption ΔE, the efficiency and the flow rate of the centrifugal pump make it possible the value of the outer diameter of the impeller of the centrifugal pump DF, which corresponds to the maximum efficiency and the minimum specific power consumption.
