What is it about?
Questions on roof tile replacement works of the Saigon cathedral, considerations were taken on tile tiles features, like: its durability, dimension, and its color. Some of the old tiles were proposed to rearranged to a certain section for the sake of authenticity.

The needs to replace the roof tile is urgent due to its safety, and on the other hand, the needs to preserve the old ones but still usable due to its historical value is also vital. This results in the importance how to consider the demands of preservation and new intervention for old buildings.
Perspectives
Working as a researcher in our team on site from 2016, we expect to share all of our findings, by reporting what we learned and studied from working reality at the Saigon cathedral repairs works in that period of time, with the invaluable support from the Institute of Construction Science and Technology-Southern Branch (IBST/S).
