What is it about?

Everyone is searching for clean energy sources. In that attempt, this study is provides a scientific contribution on the fuel-cell technology development, particularly on the study of the potential use of silica-sand/alumina composites as fuel-cell sealing materials.

Why is it important?

Fuel-cell has been promising type of clean energy for now and then. Its efficiency in converting chemical energy into electrical energy can be increased by creating a gas-tight system. Therefore, to prevent gas leaking in the fuel-cell, we need a good sealing material.

Perspectives

While others are working on costly materials, herein we introduce the possibility of using local natural resources as a candidate for fuel-cell sealant.
