What is it about?

In terms of generating more energy, the Savonius wind turbine has to be constructed at a certain model in order to produce high effectiveness and efficacy in its work. In this study, the turbine was given deflectors exactly in the outside of the blade's periphery. The deflectors were set by several angles in order to measure in what angel wind could effectively collide the blades.

Why is it important?

This study is the continuing of previous research entitled "Investigation on the effect of rotor angle and wind velocity on the Savonius wind turbine". In that previous study, the authors already have a set of rotor angle generating the highest power of the turbine. However, the study needs to be optimized by utilizing a set of deflectors in order to lift the produced power.
