What is it about?
A new approach to the DIRECTT reconstruction algorithm is described. The new approach significantly decreases the computational time. The algorithm is applied on two cases of limited-projections XCT data sets, because of a missing wedge or sparse projections. The results demonstrate how DIRECTT can outperform other established reconstruction algorithms, including the filtered back-projection and SIRT.
