What is it about?
Liquid dye lasers are losing interest due to their complexities related to dye circulation and price due to using the expensive pumps. We come up with a circulation free liquid dye laser which shows similar performance (photo-stability) like those old fashioned high performance flowing dye lasers in a very cost-effective setup.

Why is it important?
Before this work, the temporal dynamics of circulation free liquid dye lasers were in dark. Understanding the effects of repetition rate and pulse duration on laser dynamics people can model and achieve continuous-wave lasing from dye laser which would seed many laser applications.
Perspectives
We are working to enter a novel temporal regime (continuous wave/quasi-continuous-wave) of this dye laser.
