What is it about?
We formulate a simple model of social interactions which yields stable bipolarization and monopolarization of opinions in a society. We perform extensive numerical simulations and back the results with analytic calculations.

Why is it important?
Explaining the emergence of bipolarization in a society is not an easy task from a modelling perspetive. Models yielding such behaviour usually hard-wire explicit mechanism known to promote bipolarization, such as negative influence mechanism, that are not clearly backed-up by sociologcal experiments. In contrast our model is based on a simple binary interaction rule which do not explicitely implement negative influence and yet give rise to stable biplarizaton.
