What is it about?
Spin filter and spin valve are two building block for spintronics. In this work, we find that a gate-controlled EuO -graphene transistor can function simultaneously as spin filter and spin valve, provided proper gate voltages are applied. The calculation is based on an effective Hamiltonian constructed from the first-principle calculations.

Why is it important?
The finding makes the device a promising candidate for graphene spintronics up to 100K. The constructed Hamiltonian can be widely used for the investigation of quantum transport and electronic structure of EuO-induced ferromagnetic graphene.
