What is it about?
Carbon nanotube has a quasi one-dimensional structure. It exist in the bundle form in nature. When pressure is applied, the tubes may be deformed or collapsed. In this paper, we focus on the small nanotubes with high mechanical stability and investigate their polymeric structures in detail. The new obtained structures has intriguing electronic and mechanical properties. The possibility to synthesize them in the future experiments is also checked.
