What is it about?
CoPt films with high anisotropy are desired for magnetic recording/memory applications. However, it has been a challenge to increase the anisotropy constant of CoPt beyond a certain composition of Pt. We have shown that CoPt films, indeed, can be prepared with high anisotropy.
