3-D chaotic system based on unstable dissipative subsystems which trajectories moves around two hyperbolic saddle equilibrium points. A mechanism of constructing chaos-generating systems based on piece-wise linear systems.

Why is it important?

This is the first system that generates chaotic attractor with the use of equilibria of the same type which are called saddle points index 1. Also this chaos generation mechanism may find useful applications in biologic systems and technological systems when chaos is desirable
