What is it about?
Bacteria that express helixlike pili binds by several pili which cooperate in a highly nonlinear way with interesting properties. The system as a whole is examined based upon knowledge of individual pili presented in previous articles.

Why is it important?
Binding properties of single pili are interesting per se. However, a bacteria rarily binds by one single pili but rather with a multitude of pili. The study of the entire system is therefore of highest importance.
