What is it about?

In this work it was used the condensation reaction as the main base for an indirect analysis of the cross-linking process. It was applied to the phase resolved photoacoustic spectroscopy method in the near infrared 800–1600 nm and medium infrared, 1600–3200 nm. This range contains overtones of hydroxy bonds and their combination with stretching modes of CH.

Why is it important?

The copolymer and the grafted when cross linked by means of water-saturated vapor combine low electrical conductivity with high heat transfer efficiency. These materials are especially indicated for applications that require high temperature conditions.

Perspectives

By comparing the efficiency of the variables in the cross-linking process, it was found that the most significative variable for PEg was the catalyst concentration, followed by temperature. On the other hand, for Cop samples temperature was more influential than catalyst concentration.
