What is it about?

This paper is about the implementation of an improved form of PSO for solving the CEED problem which is a bi-objective problem aiming at minimization of economic input and emission from powerplants. The performance of PSO is enhanced by incorporating it with batch framework which is an allied form of island approach in metaheuristics. The problem has been solved by using two test scenarios and compared with latest state-of-the-art methods. The proposed approach of batch enabled PSO provides superior results.

Why is it important?

This work tries to tackle the common problem from the field of energy conservation i.e. reducing economic input and emission output.

Perspectives

The Batch framework seems to be a promising technique to enhance the performance of any population based metaheuristic algorithm, so that these could be utilized for problem solving from diverse domain.
