What is it about?
To determine the possibility of fabricating a 3D organic dosimeter made out of powdered leaves as a cheaper and safer alternative to polymer gel dosimeters. This research tested the stability and if the absorbed dose values were in the accepted range. Further, ROI dose-response and R2 linear dose-response were determined to know the optimal range for an organic gel dosimeter.

Why is it important?
This paper provided a new contribution and insight to gel dosimetry for a more sustainable and safer practice in clinical radiotherapy. This newfound gel dosimeter exhibited the same characteristics as usual gel dosimeters while inhibiting the cons such as the fabrication procedure and toxicity of common gel dosimeters.
Perspectives
Heading into this research was truly nerve wracking as it was the first of its kind. Although this research showed acceptable results, it is still in its infancy stage. There are still lots of room for improvement to better optimize the gel dosimeter indicating possible innovation in this field.
