What is it about?
LUMOs of organic semiconductors are usually determined indirectly, which could produce measurement errors. By analysis the current density - voltage curves of specially designed single carrier devices could be used to understand the band alignment between two organic semiconductors. With this, a new LUMO order for five organic semiconductors (TmPyPB, CBP, TPBi, Bepp2, Alq3) was derived, which is different from commonly cited values.

Why is it important?
It could help to understand the energy levels of organic semiconductors better. Review of previous studies on the LUMOs of organic semiconductors is highly recommended. Cross-check of on- and off-device LUMO determination methods should be combined to get more reliable result.
Perspectives
Be more serious when analyzing LUMO levels. Always crosscheck with multiple methods.
