What is it about?

The study used a variety of techniques to learn about the latest desalination technologies. Solar energy is an important source of alternative energy, especially in regions like Iraq that receive a lot of sunshine. Water desalination systems rely on traditional energy that is harmful to the environment and human health because it results from burning fossil fuels. How to meet the increasing demand for fresh water, which is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain as a result of urbanization and population growth, is the problem facing human society. Solar stills are the most economical way to produce fresh water because they only run on the energy of the sun, which is readily available in nature. The primary drawback of conventional solar collectors is that they cannot hold much water on a surface with a shallow water depth. To improve the functionality and efficiency of tilted solar still, several efforts have expanded the free surface area of water. The range of the maximum cumulative productivity is 2.4 L and the highest limit is 10 L, this difference in productivity is due to some of the factors affecting the performance of the work system, including the factors as follows: times of the experiment, solar radiation, wind speed, mass flow rate, and the location of the experiment. 6. The maximum productivity about (0.478 L/m2 hr) , and minimum productivity about (0.117 L/m2 hr) .

This paper presented a review made on Conventional Solar Still, Using Nanomaterial with Solar Still , Using PCM with Solar Still, Using Wick with Solar Still, and PV/T Integrated with Solar Still, which will be very effective and important for a researcher in this field. This conducts current research to increase the productivity of solar energy capture as well as the maximum throughput of different types of solar still 1. In addition to the environment, such as the level of solar radiation, is one of the most important aspects affecting the output of the solar distillation system. 2. The results showed that the performance of the solar distillation system is significantly affected by the wind speed or the ambient temperature. 3. The amount of throughput increases with increasing incident radiation, and vice versa, the throughput can be increased by using phase-changing materials in addition to using Peltier. 4. The result shows the important parameters on the productivity of solar still are the area of solar still with auxiliary components and time of product of desalination water.
