What is it about?
Geographic information system modelling in the health sector is widely used, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. This article examines the influence of environmental factors on the increase and pattern of distribution of Covid-19 cases in society through a spatial approach.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that regional proximity and environmental factors affect increasing Covid-19 cases that occur in the community and form cluster patterns. Thus, the spatial approach is one method that can be applied to decrease the rate of transmission of Covid-19 in the community.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure because I have co-authors who are competent in their fields. This article is one of our contributions to mapping health problems, especially during a pandemic, and ultimately becomes material for consideration in determining disease spread control programs.
